When is the best time to have my roof cleaned?

Many people are under the impression that in order to clean a roof, there must a week of the pure sun both before and after, leaving many victims of roof moss hesitant to have work done outside of the mid-summer months. Often times this results in putting it off, and the moss having one more winter to grow. Fortunate for homeowners who are on the fence about having their roofs cleaned this fall, it is a great time to have your roof cleaned.

Before looking at what weather is suitable for roof cleaning, it is important to understand our cleaning process consists of three steps: Treatment Preparation, Gutter Cleaning, and Treatment.

When is it not ok to have your roof cleaned?

• If your roof is SATURATED because of rain, we will not be able to perform the Treatment part of the roof clean.
• Light rain will not decrease the effectiveness of the treatment. Because we mix our chemicals individually for each job, we are able to adjust our solution to compensate for the extra water on your roof.
• We can perform the treatment preparation and gutter clean in almost any weather.
• Shake roofs in particular are the exception to this rule, we require a dried-out shake roof to work on.
